By the time we got home from our amazing adventure that I could not ever possibly erase we were all starving. Lunch had ended for the kids about 30 minutes ago but we tried our luck to see if the kitchen was still open, it was!
We all hung around the table a little while after we done and watched the kids choreograph dances. They made a cd with songs being sung by them and now they are creating dances to each song that will be recorded and turned into a DVD to sell. All the kids were joining in but only a few of them will actually preform for the videos. The older girls are the ones responsible for creating the moves but all the other kids like to jump in. Amanda, marlee, Jill, and Val all joined in too while ashvin went and played soccer with some of the boys. It had finally been determined that white people, Amanda especially, have no rhythm. I felt terrible but it was really hard to stop laughing.
I walked over to the guest house and figured I should wash off the layer of red dust that covered the upper half of my body. Everyone eventually moseyed back over to the house and we started brainstorming for our week with the kids. We have to come up with outside activities for them to do and talk about what we’re going to say in our discussions, which last for two hours in the morning, I’m nervous!
When we got to the door of the house Whitney spotted a ginormous spider and Shelley instantly jumped ten feet on to the table. We just shined the light on it and we’re fascinated but extremely creeped out at the same time! This spider was huge like the size of your palm. It started to run away from the house, it was so ridiculously fast. It rain in zig zags, it was so creepy! Mama Eunice (who takes 12 times as long to get home from dinner as us) arrived and said “that is a bad one, you want that one dead.” Followed a few seconds later by “we don’t have medicine for that one.” uhhhhh get me inside! She ran inside to get some spray to kill it and he had moved onto the table, she shot at him but he started running again! She hopped down from the table and stomped on him, fast as lightening, didn’t know a 64 year old could move like that! Eunice had saved us : )
After the first weekend in Interlaken Jill had created a web that would keep track of who hooked up with who in the group. Completely the web would become our nightly activity. We went weekend by weekend to create the final version of the web haha, it was fun reminiscing on all the weekends and all the unexpected coming togethers of certain people! I also got to learn of the hookups that I didn’t know about, geesh we have a lot of time on our hands!
Tomorrow our safari continues with the blue safari! Snorkeling with fishies, seeing dolphins, and a lobster lunch!
