We stumbled upon the Ulster Museum which is within the Botanic Gardens. This is probably my favorite museum that I have ever been to which was completely unexpected. It had so many random and interesting things.
There was also a whole section dedicated to the Civil War that went on within Ireland. I knew some of the story from what my dad had told me but not everything, I had no idea all that was behind it.
Among my other favorites were the dinasour skeletons that had been put back together, as well as just other animal remains. Such as a giant deer.. yes a GIANT deer. It was huge, like six feet tall. They had the remains of a skeleton and then had also created one to display what they would look like if they were still around today.
The museum also had a mummy, which was the first mummy to ever enter into Ireland. Egypt’s artifacts are really all over the world!
There was also a lot of information on Saint Patrick and numerous things such as robes that were worn and old jewelry.
A section of the museum was dedicated to street art but we weren’t allowed to take pictures. Most of the artist where Belfast locals and I liked that this was displayed in the museum. Changing of times or something by integrating all this old historical findings with new street art. They also had a list of places in Belfast where street art has been done but we didn’t get a chance to visit them.
